This “Girls’ Night Out” feeds the soul, pleases our palates and adds a little “feminine buff

Oh, what a night! The atmosphere at buff nail lounge in downtown Toronto on Wednesday, February 11th is fabulously up beat! One can sense the anticipation in the room, with the trio of VQA Girls’ Night Out wines flowing, and wonderful appetizers circulating, you just know something big is going down tonight!  And indeed. Something did!  A very big check… made out to Colleges Ontario from Colio Estate Wines. Way to go Colio!

Colio Estate Wines, from Lake Erie North Shore, producers of the hugely successful “Girls’ Night Out wines” launched in July of 2008, entered into an agreement with Colleges Ontario.  For every bottle sold at the LCBO between July and December 2008, 25 cents would be donated to female students at select community colleges across the province.  The program was called “Girls Helping Girls” and involved three colleges for their proximity to the VQA wine regions, Lake Erie North Shore, Niagara Peninsula, and Prince Edward County. “This is the largest donation we have ever made in our 29 year history,” stated Jim Clark, President of Colio Estate Wines… who happens to be one of the most authentic and kindest gentlemen we have ever encountered in this business.  A check for $28,605.75 was handed over to Linda Franklin of Colleges Ontario. The applause gained further momentum when we learned that the province was poised to match the amount dollar for dollar, making its value balloon to $57,211.50!  In these tough economic times, these funds will go a long way in helping young women reach their goals.



After the delivery of animated and passionate speeches by Jim Clark, Doug Beatty, Gary Kline, Linda Franklin and Donna Custance of buff nail lounge just to name a few… we were invited to enjoy a sample of the lavish services offered by buff nail lounge, courtesy of owners Donna Custance and Victoria Thorpe.
