The Splendour of South Africa.

This week’s show is all about South Africa and an extraordinary fundraising initiative called “World Chefs Tour Against Hunger:” . The 3rd time this fundraiser has been held, first in 1993, 2003 and now 2011 and now bigger than ever with over 200 chefs from around the globe will be going to Johannesburg including our own Canadian Culinary team, all to raise funds to combat hunger and raise awareness. To help get our Canadian team over there, hopefully baring small gifts for the kids, we’re also hosting a fundraiser “An Evening of South African Splendour” on June 2nd which everyone in the studio today will be an integral part of. Firstly, joining us in studio, she was the Canadian Team Leader in 2003, is a Member of the Canadian Culinary team going to South Africa once again in August, she is the President of Chef Finesse, and VP Escoffier Society of Toronto, please welcome Connie Volino. The evening of South African Splendour will also include a phenomenal array of authentic South African foods.Our next guest, Proprietor of Florence Meats, a family business since 1977, multi award winner, specializing in the highest quality South African food products found anywhere, Damian Goriup and finally, there will be lots of wonderful South African wines flowing that evening, including those brought in by our next guest, graciously donated, Regional Manager for RKW Imports Inc, Steven Trenholme.
