Several months ago we had the opportunity along with a few other journalists, foodies and wine folks to experience a fabulous resort just one hour outside of Toronto, Hockley Valley Resort www.hockley.com This fabulous completely renovated resort is a remarkable venue, compete with anything and everything your heart or taste buds might desire. With the focus on “farm to table”, with their own vegetable and herb garden, with over 1000 organic garlic buds planted on the property, vineyards with Riesling, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, this spot is definitely a culinary destination.
We were so impressed with not only the meal enjoyed at CABIN, designed and created by Chef de Cuisine Michael Potters and complemented by the meticulous wine selection by sommelier Corey Ladouceur we wanted to know more..
Our guests on the show this week, Corey Ladouceur, resident sommelier of Hockley Valley Resort, who has been invited before the Court of Master Sommeliers in July 2012, and hopes to become Toronto’s 4th Master Sommelier. He brought in 2 wines for us to enjoy, Norman Hardie Chardonnay 2012 PEC and 2027 Pinot Noir Queenston Road Vineyard, St. Davids Bench.
As well as Chef de Cuisine Michael Potters, one of the top chefs in Toronto, TV star, restauranteur and now in charge of the culinary program at Hockley Valley Resort, brings his philosophy, passion and love of food to the resort.
