Our guest in studio this week, George Samios, International Brand Ambassador Wolf Blass. The iconic wine company that started 45 years ago by a young German fellow, Wolfgang Franz Otto Blass who came to Australia on a mission. In 1967 the company’s first vintage with their Grey Label launched and it has been a major force ever since helping shape the incredible wine industry now in Australia. The company is Wolf Blass, starting off with a 3 hectare vineyard in the Barossa Valley and now one of the most recognizable and celebrated names in the world of wine, with labels that range from their entry Red Label right up to the Black Label, winning over 3000 awards. The WOLF BLASS BLACK LABEL CABERNET SAUVIGNON/SHIRAZ 2005
Currently available through VINTAGES 960468Price: $ 99.95 for 750 ml.Tasting Notes:
The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon (51%) -Shiraz (49%) was aged in new French and American oak for 24 months. A saturated purple color, it emits an aromatic array of pain grille, pencil lead, black currant, blueberry, and mint. This leads to a full-bodied, smooth-textured, dense wine in which coffee, chocolate, and plum flavours make an appearance. There is enough fine-grained tannin to ensure another 5-7 years of development. It will be at its best from 2013 to 2025.
