Happy New Year everyone! Hope you all had a fantastic sparkling holiday season and are ready to welcome all that 2019 has to bring!
We are starting off the new year in style with one of our most favourite events of the year. The Niagara Icewine Festival taking place January 11th-27th, featuring Canadian liquid gold, our Icewine.
Icewine, that delectable, luscious, seductive dessert wine also known as the Nectar of the Gods! This special wine that literally put Canada on the world-wide wine map!
Coming up on today’s audio podcast…
What makes it so special? How is it made? We’ll learn all about it, the risks, the rewards, and the amazing taste profiles!
Kicking off the month long Icewine Harvest Celebrations is Niagara’s Twenty Valley 10th annual Winter WineFest. It is taking place in Jordan Village, Jan 11th-13th. Now this event is so special and really fun! It offers something for everyone! The outdoor art installations, the musical entertainment including Ashley MacIsaac, the Barrel Rolling Competition, the Sparkling Dinner on January 12th and the Icewine Brunch on January 13th at the panoramic Windows Room at the Inn on the Twenty Restaurant.
To tell us all about what we can look forward to experiencing at the festival is our first guest Erin Thomson, Executive Director Twenty Valley Tourism.
Erin will be sure to fill us in on 2 very special events taking place featuring a pair of celebrity chefs hailing from Calgary, Alberta co-chef/owners of CHARCUT Roast House and Charbar, Chefs Connie DeSousa and John Jackson. They will host the popular Meridian sponsored Sparkling Dinner on January 12th and the Icewine Brunch on January 13th.
We can hardly wait to find out what they have planned and of course these two special events will feature delectable courses paired with VQA wines!
One lucky person will win a pair of tickets to that Icewine Brunch valued at $170.00.

Cave Spring Cellars is one of the foremost producers of Riesling in North America. Len will share with us his vision from the early pioneering wine days as one of the early farmers to plant the noble grape varietals of Europe. To now being recognized as one of Canada’s finest wineries. What can we expect this year for the Icewine harvest??
And to close off the show one of our favourite returning guests Richard Mell, the Director of Grape Escape Wine Tours. Known for their unique bicycle tours and awarded the 2018 Certificate of Excellence by Trip Advisor.
You can also enjoy the Niagara Icewine Festival in style, with the Grape Escape Wine Tours vehicle wine tours during the 3 icewine festival weekends.
