Guests: Joan Kelley Walker and Peter Van- Helsdingen

Coming up on today’s show, we salute all the moms, grand-moms and mothers to be, with their very special day just around the corner Mother’s Day of course, a tradition by the way that started 105 years ago in 1914! The creator of the holiday was social activist Anna Jarvis, from Virginia, who after her mom passed away worked tirelessly to establish a special day for her and other mothers of course. And it was actually Woodrow Wilson who finally took notice, clever man  and he’s the guy who  declared every second Sunday in May a national holiday aptly named Mothers Day!

President Woodrow Wilson and first lady Edith Bolling Wilson are seen in Washington on May 15, 1918. Wilson proclaims Mother’s Day, May 9, 1914
